Famous crowdsourcing

Welcome to the crowdsourcing revolution. Ok so maybe revolution is a little strong but certainly crowdsourcing is becoming ever more relevant and assessable in today’s world.

Briefly defined crowdsourcing is a term that describes the act of taking tasks traditionally performed by an employee or contractor, and outsourcing them  through an “open call” to a large group of people (a crowd) [Wikipedia]

The most famous is probably Wikipedia (from which the above definition is taken) the online crowsourced encyclopedia

Crowdsourcing now takes many forms and his turned industries on their heads, proved and disproved economic theories and provided a wealth of opportunities to start-up and large global companies.

It has fascinated me for a number of years (ever since reading wikinomics and crowdsourcing) and this blog is intended to act as a news channel on latest developments in the crowdsourcing world.

Over time I expect to see crowdsourcing recognized as a normal part of business life

Thanks for being here
